Then an Anselm House internship is a great opportunity for you! 

Anselm House internships are paid positions working directly with the Anselm House staff team. Interns work at Anselm House to welcome UMN students, faculty, and community into Melrose Station, foster community, and support events that help our community connect, learn, and grow together. We work hard to keep things running smoothly, and we have a lot of fun doing it.

About the Internship

Interns at Anselm House participate in, and take leadership roles of, the running and hospitality of Melrose Station student community center, alongside Anselm House Staff. Melrose Station is an active project of Christian hospitality, and our interns are integral to welcoming guests and developing our community on campus. Through this internship, interns will spend approximately 10–12 hours a week across four areas.

All interns will:

  1. Host Melrose Station during open hours (includes welcome desk greeting, making  coffee and tea, cooking food, supporting IT and AV needs, and maintaining and organizing our “house”)
  2. Develop a practical vision for Christian hospitality and leadership through discussions and readings with interns and staff, meeting about twice a month.
  3. Host and run Anselm House events for students, faculty, UMN community, and more (schedule confirmed ahead of time per availability), alongside Anselm House staff

In addition, each intern focuses on a specific professional area.

Requirements

You are a good fit for this internship if you are:

  • A current student (graduate or undergraduate) at the University of Minnesota
  • Available to work an average 10-12 hours/week for the 2024-25 school year (scheduling is flexible across the week)
  • Aligned with Anselm House’s mission and vision for a Christian study center at the UMN
  • Eager to meet new people and invest in relationships
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with others
  • Flexible, adaptable, and teachable for large and small tasks

Preference will be given to students who have previously participated in events at Melrose Station and/or with Anselm House, but if this is your first experience with Anselm House, you are still welcome to apply!

Details

  • This is an hourly position starting at $15/hour, averaging 10–12 hours/week, with variable, optional hours for holiday and school breaks.
  • All interns are expected to attend regular intern meetings twice a month, in addition to specific shifts and scheduled work times they’ve worked out with their supervisor.
  • This position begins between August 19 and September 1, 2024 (flexible) and concludes roughly May 16, 2025 (also flexible).
